On Sunday Aug. 15, the Patrons held their first Gala event at the Almansor Center in Alhambra, at which time a Casola Prize was awarded to Mr. Angelo Spano of UCLA.
Thirty members and guests joined in the festivities in the lovely Garden Room overlooking the lush country club golf course. A delicious 3 course meal was served accompanied by fine wines. A raffle was held at the end of the event where many fine books and other treasures were presented to the many winners. This was the Patrons first event in the 17 months of restrictions imposed due to the Covid virus.
Paul Romano, Patron President, brought the members up to date on the introduction of the “updated” PIC website as well as the current planning for possible future events. Casola Prize winner, Mr. Spano, was joined by his mother and younger brother (a Santa Monica College student) for the Award ceremony & luncheon.
