Continuing their 4 year old High School ‘outreach program’, the Patrons hosted a screening of the well known film "The Mona Lisa is Missing" at Baxter Alliance H.S. in San Pedro, on Mon. March 4. Meeting late in 2018 with dynamic Principal, Ms. Brandy Woodard and Prof. Andrea Giannone. it was apparent that the Italian language programs at Baxter would be a wonderful addition for the Patrons who could bring their extensive cultural resources to benefit the large group of Italian language students.

Four of the six annual H.S. Senior grants (among more than 80 applicants) were awarded to Baxter graduates in 2018, whose academic records were quite amazing, reports Paul Romano, PIC President. Awards were presented to students who were accepted to UC Berkeley, Fordham Univ. and others.

More than 80 Italian language students attended the film which was shown in the large and fully equipped auditorium. The two best essays written in English and translated into Italian will be awarded cash prizes by President Romano.

Future programs may include a VIP tour of the Getty Villa, as well as more films and campus visits for pending graduates who wish to continue their Italian language and cultural studies.
