I am so thankful to receive the Casola Prize. This award reflects the deep connection between both our heritage and my academic and professional goals. Studying Italian has not only strengthened my connection to my family’s past, but also taught me how I want to shape my own future. I am a double major in Italian Studies and Sports Medicine on the pre-medicine track. My goal is to practice medicine grounded in cultural understanding, based on my Italian studies and my family’s history. The Casola Prize will allow me to continue my studies and career with a deep sense of purpose and gratitude. This award shows that my cultural identity is not separate from my future in medicine, but rather integral to it. I appreciate this opportunity to continue promoting our heritage.
